We are housed in a 1902 building originally built for the Register of Deeds and auditor. General exhibits and an 1886, fully furnished, house built by the Milwaukee Railroad for its sectional foreman; and an 1884 one-room school, also furnished, and used for school days every May. |

This Dakota Territory Courthouse served not only as a center for government, but also in early years as a meeting place for church services, socials and community activities. Justice was dispensed from this building for 92 years until it was given to the Custer County Historical Society in 1973. |
