Aberdeen Dacotah Prairie Museum
The Dacotah Prairie Museum of Aberdeen, South Dakota mounts both long and short-term exhibits dealing with life on the early prairie, to convey different aspects of the area's history. The DPM is dedicated to telling the story of the Dakota Prairie and its inhabitants.

Armour Douglas County Historical Society
We are housed in a 1902 building originally built for the Register of Deeds and auditor. General exhibits and an 1886, fully furnished, house built by the Milwaukee Railroad for its sectional foreman; and an 1884 one-room school, also furnished, and used for school days every May.

Belle Fourche Tri-State Museum
The Museum focuses on the early pioneer, rodeo, and old west history of Western South Dakota, Eastern Wyoming and Southeast Montana. Its collection tells
the stories of the early settlers and preserve them for the next generations of this area and to share these artifacts & stories with our visitors.

Box Elder South Dakota Air and Space Museum
See up-close more than 25 historic bombers, fighters, utility aircraft, missiles, plus many indoor exhibits of aviation memorabilia. Free admission every day, all year round. Official Base Tours, including a Minuteman Missile Silo, for a nominal fee mid-May thru mid-Sept.

Brandon Brandon Historical Society
The museum is being constructed within the restored classrooms of the first Brandon school building built in 1916.

Brookings South Dakota Art Museum
6 galleries featuring a dynamic exhibition schedule, related lectures and hands on workshops. Guided tours available. South Dakota Agricultural Heritage Museum
The museum is dedicated to preserving our rich agricultural history and rural heritage. The collections and exhibits depict technology, crops, and livestock. In addition the exhibits examine human experiences, institutions, and cultures that were shaped by the state's rural landscape and diverse environment

Buffalo Buffalo Historical Museum & One-Room Schoolhouse
Museum preserves local history from the cattle-ranch and homesteading eras in Harding County. The site features a one-room schoolhouse, built in 1914. The Museum itself is housed in the old First State Bank Building, constructed in 1913.

Carthage Carthage Museum and Historic Society/Strawbale Built Museum
On November 2nd, 1998, a dedicated group of Carthage townspeople met to organize the Carthage Museum and Historical Society. The old building, which had been used as a museum for 25 years, was purchased from the City of Carthage

Chamberlain AKTA Lakota Museum and Culture Center
A tribute to the Sioux nation and offers a rare and fascinating glimpse into the Lakota culture. Visitors are taken on a visual journey through the proud heritage of the Sioux and into the excitement of contemporary Sioux art.

South Dakota Hall of Fame
Biographies of SD Hall Of Fame Honorees. Histories and video programs of South Dakota People. Interactive exhibits, computer kiosks, memorabilia, artifacts, theater. The South Dakota Hall of Fame is a non-profit, non-governmental organization recognizing South Dakotans who stand above the rest.

Clark Beauvasi Heritage Museum Complex
Clark County Museum started with a pioneer home and then grew to include an impressive array of buildings and displays. It includes a settler's shanty, a pioneer church and school. Each museum building is furnished in keeping with its time of use, and there is an extensive machinery display.

Custer Crazy Horse Memorial Indian Museum

Custer Court House
This Dakota Territory Courthouse served not only as a center for government, but also in early years as a meeting place for church services, socials and community activities. Justice was dispensed from this building for 92 years until it was given to the Custer County Historical Society in 1973.
Deadwood Adams House and Museum
Deadwood’s Adams Museum® is the oldest history museum in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Pioneer businessman W.E. Adams built the museum in 1930 as a memorial to his family and to honor the early pioneers that settled the Black Hills.
Days of 76 Museum
Days of '76 Museum evolved as part of the Days of '76 Celebration Parade and Rodeo started in 1923. Collections include over 50 horse-drawn vehicles, costumes, archives, photographs, rodeo memorabilia, and the Don Clowser collection of old west pioneer and Native American art and artifacts.

The Museum houses interesting and unique pieces associated with the Territorial Period and beyond. Outbuildings include a restored one-room schoolhouse and an 1892 Great Northern Rail Depot.
